AES is proud to share the incredible efforts of our colleagues who took part in the Media City Half Marathon on Thursday, 25 September 2025, to raise funds for Marie Curie – Northern Ireland. Representing AES were Glenn Ball, Tim Evans, Kieran Claydon, Kiefer McDonald, and Kyle Loughrin, joined by our valued running partner, Ashley Woodhead from Nice Group UK.
Together, the team completed the 10km course, running with purpose, determination, and a shared commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by terminal illness. Their participation not only showcased outstanding physical endurance but also highlighted the strong sense of social responsibility that is embedded in the culture at AES.
Running for a Cause That Matters
Marie Curie provides essential care and support for individuals living with terminal illnesses, as well as for their families. Their work includes nursing services, hospices, bereavement support, and practical guidance at one of life’s most difficult times. Every step taken by our team was in honour of those impacted by terminal illness and in support of the compassionate services Marie Curie offers across Northern Ireland and beyond.
By taking part in this event, the AES team aimed to raise both awareness and much-needed funds to help ensure that more families can access the comfort, care, and dignity they deserve during such challenging moments.
The Journey to Race Day
Participating in a half marathon requires dedication, and our team members committed themselves to training in the weeks leading up to the event. Balancing work, personal commitments, and training schedules was no small task, and we commend them for their perseverance and determination. From early morning runs to weekend group sessions, their preparation reflected not only a desire to complete the race but to do so as part of something greater than themselves.
Race day was filled with energy, camaraderie, and community spirit. Colleagues, friends, and family turned out to support the runners, providing encouragement from the sidelines and celebrating their efforts at the finish line. The atmosphere at Media City was a testament to the power of collective action for a shared cause.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported this initiative — whether by donating, cheering on the runners, or simply spreading the word. Your generosity and encouragement played a crucial role in helping our team stay motivated and reach their goal.
The fundraising efforts are still ongoing, and donations remain open for anyone who would like to contribute. Every pound raised will go directly to Marie Curie and will support the continuation of their vital services.
